Tifany Shelby, MA is a Research Assistant II for BAI.   Ms. Shelby received her Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology with a Marriage and Family Therapy Concentration and Child Studies Specialization in 2004.   While attending graduate school, she did her internship at Airport Marina Counseling Service Center, where she received intensive training, counseled children, adolescents and adults.   She also counseled students at Westchester High School (Healthy Start Program).   She then continued her internship at San Martin Counseling Center, where she was sent to Saint Bernadette Catholic School (Kindergarten – 8 th Grade) to complete her Child Studies requirement.  

She is the Research Associate on the SAMHSA/ CENTER FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE PREVENTION Minority Substance Abuse, HIV and Hepatitis Strategic Prevention Framework, Project with Sunrise Community Counseling Center where she is responsible for data management and technical assistance. She presents coordinates monthly meetings where she presents her analyzed data to the Sunrise Staff regarding the youth (ages 12-17) and parent recruitment.   Ms. Shelby is currently the Program Manager on the Office on Women’s Health Chicas Con Fuerza Program.   She oversees and coordinates all activity between BAI and all partnership organizations. She works closely with the Advisory Group on gathering key resources such as appropriate curriculums on health education and life skills, group activities and events, and training modules for staff and mentors.   Her primary responsibilities include direct management of all program planning and implementing activities.  Specifically, she hosted monthly meetings with detailed agendas, monitored staff and peer mentors, and interacts with agency staff in a timely manner.   On the program implementation end, she oversaw the program fidelity and interacts regularly with all program staff and participants.  She works with Dr. Cervantes on the evaluation process submits all reports and documents that details program processes, implementation, and evaluation to the Women's Health Organization. Ms. Shelby assists in data management on the New Mexico Mental Health Transformation Project where she performed literature searches and reviews on various topics, such as Wrap-Around Programs.   She also has analyzed and presented data on a survey and is one of the mentors in the New Mexico Evaluation Training Academy.   Ms. Shelby is responsible for creating agendas and distributing minutes from the monthly conference calls, general correspondences between project staff and other general support duties as required.   She schedules monthly meetings and conference calls and ensures all reports are timely.   She assists in report development as required.
